Done and done

Paper and presentation are finished! Sorry it took me so long to get another post up, but I seriously worked night and day to finish our project. And then of course the blasted internet was misbehaving...but none of that matters anymore because we're done! I'm so happy, I can't even explain how my cup of joy overfloweth. We finished the paper on Friday night and then Saturday morning we had our community presentation of our study findings. There was a great turnout, which included about 25 Peace Corp volunteers who are currently training nearby before their placement somewhere in Kenya. I helped present on behalf of my group, which was a little stressful given the audience and having to use a translator to address those who speak KiMaasai in the crowd. It was a very long day because after the presentations, important people from the community gave speeches, and Kenyans loooooove to talk. But, once it ended, it was the best feeling ever!

We celebrated today by heading back to Amboseli National Park to go on safari again. It was even better than our last visit, we saw more animals and got even closer to them. We also went back to Serena Lodge to destroy their buffet. Most people go to Africa and lose weight. We're something of an anomaly.

Tomorrow we're doing some program evaluations, packing, and having a going away party at Cl-cl-cl-club Kimana. We leave bright and early Tuesday morning, I'll spend the night in Nairobi, and then back home on the 1st. There's so much to say about this experience but I'll wait til I have a better internet connection so I can upload some pics and get some real thoughts down.

Just a few more days. It's bittersweet for certain.
