Road Trip Pics!

Hi guys! (all 3 of you reading this) I finally got around to uploading pics from the road trip. I was going to post a few on here but I'm a bit short on time so I'll just have to share the link to my flickr page:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/meenalenn/

If you've looked at my flickr before and are wondering where the other 3000+ pics are, I changed my privacy settings so only flickr contacts listed as friends and family can view them. If you're interested in photo documentation of my life set up a little account, add me as a friend, and voila--more cheesy Meena smiles than you ever wanted to see. It's actually really easy to do and if you have a yahoo account already there's a flickr account waiting for you!

I'll go ahead and warn you that there are lots of pics of the open road from the car so hope you're not too bored by it all!

Boston update: I love it here. I know, it's probably still a little honeymoon period and I fully expect to have a little homesickness breakdown at some point...but for now, things are great :) School is keeping me busy but I don't mind because I'm a giant nerd and I sort of enjoy reading about things like smallpox. Life outside of class is busy as well-- still exploring and wandering and getting lost less frequently. I've made some good friends and I love that we've all moved on from small talk-y conversations and we can talk about real things and get to know each other on a deeper level. I feel like I'm being myself and opening up to people and it's a good feeling--this is definitely starting to feel like home and I feel like a better version of myself here. Don't worry though, I'm still same old Meena...now with a bit of street smarts thrown in, ha!

Oh and a blog wouldn't be complete without some links to where I've been eating so here you go!

Thai food: House of Siam and Equator, both are near school and they're delicious. You'll be surprised to know that this carnivore feasted on tofu at House of Siam and now I'm getting funny ideas about cooking it at home.

Indian/Greek fusion: Siraj I know that sounds weird right? Well, yes it was. It wasn't exactly fusion, it's more like separate greek and indian menus. I had tandoori chicken and there wasn't anything Indian about it. I tasted the biryani which tasted like chicken friend rice from Mr. Chow's....so, this was my first bust of a dining experience in Boston--at least it was cheap!

French: Petit Robert Bistro: my new favorite! I love an authentic French bistro and this place was INCROYABLE! (incredible, en francais) They have croque monsieurs on the menu :)

Ok, I promise next time I'll talk more about my real life here and not just showcase what a little piggy I am. I've just always enjoyed sharing meals with friends and most of our socializing has been over food (or drinks at da club, haha) so we're just eating our way through the city together :)

I need to get started on a paper and head to class in a bit...I'm working hard in preparation for a special visitor this weekend!! I'm SO excited :) I'll give you one guess for who's coming to visit...

hugs to all.
