March Madness

March is almost over and I'm still wondering when spring arrives in Boston. Seasonal Affective Disorder is real, people! I have been cranky and lazy and I think sunshine and warm weather are the only cure. To deal with my cabin fever, I have taken a few trips this month. Here's a quick recap!

1st stop- Portland, Maine: My darling Tanasia moved there a few months ago and I was dying to visit. She and Chris have a lovely place in South Portland and they were great hosts. We ate well, snuggled hard, and saw some beautiful beaches. I am definitely going back when it's warm so I can feast on some lobstah and check out more of that coastline. It's a quick 2 hour train ride so I'll be back for sure, I'm excited about more visits with my Maine squeeze!

Next up, California to visit my parents and Roy. I was having serious family withdrawals so decided to head west. Luckily, my favorite airline Virgin America, just started service between Boston and LAX so I traveled in style. They have the coolest planes, complete with mood lighting and an awesome entertainment console where you can play games, order food, make mp3 playlists, even chat with your neighbors if you spy a hot guy seated in 12C.

My parents and I took a little road trip to Las Vegas and as you can imagine, it was WILD! Just kidding, it was totally relaxing though. We ate well, I gambled and lost some of Dad's money, and did some awesome people watching. I see how LV is fun for some partying with your friends and all, but otherwise, I don't think it's really my thing. Sure, it's fun to see fake Eiffel Tower, fake Venice canals, fake pyramids, fake Trevi fountain, etc...but really, I'd rather see the real things and not have to deal with the drunks and dirty people. And the casinos! I just think it's sad to see people looking like zombies with their eyes glazed over as they gamble away little Johnny's college fund. Anyhow, the highlight for me was the buffets haha...I suggest you check out the buffet at theWynn hotel where we stayed--delish! But, don't forget to wear your stretchy pants.

Ok then last trip of the month was to dear Richmond, VA. I ran the Monument Avenue 10k for the 5th time (beat my sis by 2 minutes in case anyone's wondering) and brought home my special friend from Boston. As usual, I loved seeing all my people and going to my favorite places...I even made it to Charlottesville which is always a treat and makes me nostalgic for carefree college days, living with lots of friends, and not having my womanly hips yet. We hit up UVA and Monticello too since Special Friend has a thing for architecture and wanted to see some places he studied. All in all, it was the best weekend I've had in Richmond since I left. I heart you RVA!
